As a Controller at UpAuto, you will assume a pivotal role in steering the financial health and performance of our automotive dealership group. Your responsibilities will encompass overseeing financial reporting, budgeting, and forecasting across multiple locations, ensuring accuracy and compliance with regulatory standards. Your strategic insights and meticulous financial management will play a crucial part in driving profitability and maintaining the financial integrity of our dealership group.
Job Duties :
- Develop and implement financial strategies to optimize profitability and ensure long-term financial stability.
- Oversee the preparation of financial statements, budgets, and forecasts for the dealership group.
- Prepare the detailed monthly financial statements, in keeping with the dealer’s instructions and the manufacturer’s time frame and format; ensure that all manufacturer accounts are up-to-date and accurate – specifically those concerning warranty claims, discounts, interest rate protection and industry advertising.
- Coordinate and manage financial audits, ensuring compliance with accounting standards and regulatory requirements.
- Analyze financial performance and variances, providing insights and recommendations to senior management for decision-making.
- Monitor the supervision of accounts receivable and sales / purchases of vehicle documentation.
- Establish and maintain internal controls to safeguard assets and mitigate financial risks.
- Collaborate with department heads to streamline processes, improve efficiency, and maximize revenue opportunities.
- Manage cash flow, working capital, and financing activities to support operational needs and strategic initiatives.
- Provide leadership and guidance to the finance team, fostering a culture of accountability, professionalism, and continuous improvement.
Successful Candidates Possess :
University degree in the field of Accounting and / or Comparable dealership accounting experience (a must)Dealership experience is requiredDesignation preferred : CA, CPADemonstrated knowledge and understanding of the overall operation of a retail automotive dealership accounting procedures.User knowledge of Dealership DMS : PBS (preferred), CDK / OneEighty software, Reynolds, SertiStrong computer literacyDemonstrated excellent interpersonal skills - must be an effective communicator both verbally and in writingStrong intellect with a well-developed business acumenDemonstrated ability to prioritize tasks for self and others and follow them through to completionDemonstrated recognition that customer satisfaction is the prime concern of the dealershipProven ability to lead and motivate othersAn understanding and a willingness to allow others to learn through experienceDemonstrated ability to co-ordinate activities of all dealership departmentsProven and demonstrated history of successful departmental and personnel managementThorough understanding of expense control re : inventory, floor plan, and personnelOrganizational ability and attention to detailAbility to work in a team environment to achieve common goalsWhy Work for UpAuto Group :
