Responsibilities

• Perform laboratory testing and oversee laboratory technicians.
• Complete and maintain QA / QC procedures, equipment calibrations, proficiency sampling, and annual inspections.
• Maintain SPCL procedure for documentation, certifications, testing procedures, and supplies to meet test procedure requirements.
• Supervise team of technicians and subcontractors in daily laboratory operations to provide geotechnical and material testing services.
• Conduct all aspects of geotechnical and material testing—including soil, rock, aggregate, asphalt, concrete, and other construction materials—in accordance with relevant standards (ASTM, ASHTO, CCIL, etc.).
• Monitor others to ensure appropriate protocol is adhered to in the execution of testing standard methods.
• Maintain open lines of communication to facilitate information exchange between external clients and the Operational Manager.
• Assist with scheduling work, monitoring utilization and time sheets for direct reports to meet prescribed turnaround times.
