JOB PURPOSE :

Reporting to the Plant Maintenance Manager, the Maintenance Buyer assists the Maintenance Planner with all warehouse inventory responsibilities. This includes but is not limited to, stocking of maintenance materials and supplies, inventory control and records, and related duties as required.

KEY JOB FUNCTIONS / ROLES / RESPONSIBILITIES :

  • Responsible for ensuring efficient onsite sourcing, handling, and flow of all parts in the plant
  • Coordinate freight handling and bills of lading
  • Catalog and complete parts mapping for all new plant parts in CMMS and distribute to appropriate locations
  • Maintain stock levels for maintenance department including rotation of stock and disposal of obsolete parts
  • Monitor inventory sign out sheets for all warehouse locations and update CMMS daily
  • Keep detailed and accurate records to maintain inventory control and ensure proper stock and input into CMMS
  • Assist Maintenance Planner in initial set up of standards for min and max levels in CMMS
  • Performs related and peripheral site specific duties as required; telehandler, forklift
  • Advise on use and appropriateness of goods or parts to other team members
  • Daily communication with Maintenance Planner
  • Review returned work orders to determine required parts and assess stock levels
  • Stage parts for weekend repairs
  • Maintain documentation and control of radios
  • Follow up on equipment that has been sent out for repairs
  • Record and track any new / incoming equipment in CMMS
  • Recommend and implement processes changes to enforce continuous improvement in Maintenance department
  • Annual inventory control reconciliation
  • Continuously source for best price and availability on parts
  • Ensure all invoices are updated on a weekly basis
  • Responsible for day to day purchasing of required parts

  • Remain current with technical knowledge in areas of responsibility
  • Attend regular 1 : 1 coaching / update sessions
  • QUALIFICATIONS :

  • High school diploma
  • Technical background preferably in mechanical or maintenance fields
  • Must have purchasing experience
  • Intermediate skills in Microsoft Office programs and Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS)
  • Strong organizational and time management skills
  • High attention to detail
  • Ability to work in a team-based environment
  • 3-5 years of experience working in a Maintenance environment preferred

  • WORKING CONDITIONS :

  • Majority of time spent in stock rooms with occasional office environment and Kill or Cut floors as needed. May be required to travel to Company Distribution Center as well. Weekend work may be required.
