Delegated Solutions currently has an opening available in their Toronto office for a Client Investment Onboarding Specialist.
The Client Onboarding Specialist will work with the Head of Client Implementation on the transition and onboarding activities related to client assets of defined benefit plans, defined contribution plans, endowments, foundations, and non-profit organizations.
The successful candidate will be proficient in the securities industry practices and have experience working with custodians, investment managers, transition managers, insurance companies, and transfer agents.
The successful candidate will work with the investment team on the onboarding process.
Reporting to the Head of Client Implementation for Canada, responsibilities will focus on client onboarding and implementation.
The role will include but is not limited to :
On-going maintenance and documentation of the onboarding process to allow for efficiency, risk review, and continuous improvement.
This requires proficiency in :
- Transition management
- Securities settlement
- Fund settlement
- Alternative investment transactions including capital calls and hedge funds
- Transition and implementation related to new client onboarding
- Implementation of new products including :
- Planning and approval
- Documentation of trust agreements and offering materials
- Set up of transfer agent, custody, and trustee
- Execution of fund launch
- Implementation of third-party managers including :
- Documentation
- Set up with client custodian and manager
- Execution of initial trading
- Implementation of Sub-advisor changes including :
- Documentation
- Coordination of set up with custodian and sub-advisor
- Transition
- Maintenance of client information and delivery of services including :
- Plan mergers and dismantling of Master Trusts
- Plan name changes
- Client billing
- Client documentation
Qualifications :
- Undergraduate degree in relevant finance, economics, or related discipline
- 5+ years Portfolio Manager experience with focus on institutional client account maintenance, defined contribution platforms, and trade order management experience (securities and funds)
- Mutual / Pooled Fund experience would be an asset
- Outstanding technical, analytical, and problem-solving skills; Microsoft Office competence with a strong emphasis in Excel including Macro proficiency
- Strong organizational skills
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and work with minimal supervision
- Excellent interpersonal and project management skills with a strong attention to detail
- Strong verbal and written communication skills a must
Strong Assets :
- Previous cash management experience
- Trade processing experience
- Charles River Investment Solutions experience
- Quality assurance / User acceptance testing experience
- Intermediate to advanced Microsoft Excel skills
