Job Overview

Reports to : Service Manager – Hard Rock

Shift : 5 x 2, Mon – Fri, 8 - hours per day

Location : On-site. Sudbury, Ontario

Relocation : This position does not offer relocation

Our Komatsu, P&H, Joy, Montabert, Modular Mining Systems, Hensley Industries, NTC, and Gigaphoton equipment and services are used to extract fundamental minerals and develop modern infrastructure. We want to add a General Labourer to our Ontario distribution group to support our Shop and warehousing teams.

Key Job Responsibilities

  • Participate in and be committed to a strong safety culture to achieve Komatsu's organizational Safety, Health, and Environmental goals
  • Complies with Komatsu company policies and procedures.
  • Assist / support the shop and field service technicians with mechanical tasks
  • Perform Housekeeping Duties in the shop, office and outside yard
  • Operate forklift, basic hand tools and powered hand tools. i.e. Drills, Disc Grinders etc.
  • Build strong working relationships with relevant co-workers
  • Assist as required in any physical inventory and general warehouse duties
  • Processing orders through a computerized inventory system
  • Ability to respond to on-call duties and act on potential delivery requests
  • Coordinate freight and delivery functions when required
  • Perform general building maintenance when required
  • Perform general tasks as assigned by the Supervisor

Qualifications / Requirements

  • Valid Driver’s License and own transportation are required
  • Ability to travel as required
  • Previous experience in material handling
  • Candidates must be detail-oriented and have a high level of accuracy
  • Qualified candidates will have strong work ethics and mechanical ability
  • Experience in production and manufacturing environments is an asset
  • Previous experience with hand tools and assembly and / or fabrication is an asset
  • Able to lift to 10kgs safely
  • Able to demonstrate aptitude for problem-solving
  • Self-motivated, can multi-task and manage change in responsibilities
  • Results-oriented and able to work both independently and within a team
  • Fluent in computer literacy. Microsoft Office and ERP (SAP) systems experience an advantage
