Our Senior Business Intelligence (BI) Specialist is a master of data analytics. With a keen eye for detail and a passion for finding insights, they are a vital part of our software systems and BI applications team. We’re looking for a Senior BI Specialist to join our head office located in Vernon, British Columbia . Our head office houses Tolko’s corporate services groups including Sales, Marketing & Logistics, Finance, Accounting & Credit, IT, Procurement and Human Resources. This is an on-site position and remote work is not available at this time.

Our ideal candidate has the following qualifications :

• Minimum 6 years of relevant experience working in a development role.
• Comprehensive data warehouse analysis and design experience , with a full knowledge of data warehouse methodologies and data modeling.
• Extensive experience with SQL coding best practices, and Data warehousing techniques for both on prem and cloud-based architectures.
• Knowledgeable on model security and the implications and impact of various techniques such as RLS.
• Responsibilities will include engineering new data pipelines as well as supporting existing models and data delivery methods .
• Strong understanding of data structures, theories, principles, and practices.
• Broad based business skills and a strong background in both data & analytics tools.
• Strong knowledge of SSAS, SSRS, and Power BI .
• Experience with Azure data platform such as Databricks, OneLake and Microsoft Fabric.
