House Officer - Evenings/Nights

Job Description

As part of the Saskatoon City Hospital (SCH) Optimization Project, which includes the addition of 60 new medicine beds, the Saskatchewan Health Authority – Saskatoon Area is recruiting 7–8 House Officers to provide evening and overnight coverage for inpatients at St. Paul’s Hospital (SPH), Royal University Hospital (RUH), and Saskatoon City Hospital (SCH).

These roles are critical to supporting expanded internal medicine services and ensuring high-quality, continuous care during overnight hours across Saskatoon's three acute care hospitals.

Role Details

• Provide in-house overnight coverage (17:00–08:00) for all internal medicine inpatients across SPH, RUH, and SCH.
• Opportunities include part-time (5–7 shifts/month) and casual (3–4 shifts/month) positions.
• Work in a supported environment with consultation available from internal medicine subspecialists and other hospital-based physicians.

Remuneration

• $3,900 per 15-hour overnight shift
• Partial shifts pro-rated at $260/hour

Job Qualifications

Qualifications

• Current licensure or eligibility with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Saskatchewan (CPSS)
• Ability to obtain and maintain SHA Practitioner Staff privileges
• Interest and demonstrated experience in hospital-based internal medicine
• Strong communication and team collaboration skills
• Language of Work: English
