Job description
The Marketing Manager will lead consumer-first category growth by turning insights into actionable 4P strategies across product, price, promotion, and placement. This role is responsible for developing category strategies, driving innovation pipelines, and managing the full product lifecycle from concept to delist. The ideal candidate is a creative, data-driven marketer with strong cross-functional collaboration skills and a passion for food.

Key Responsibilities

Category Strategy & 4P Planning
  • Develop category strategies and growth plans, including price architecture, promotional calendars, assortment roadmaps, and planogram principles. Align KPIs and goals while ensuring clear direction on where to play and how to win.

Insight, Data Mining & Trend Analysis
  • Analyze consumer, POS, loyalty, and space data to identify opportunities, size the prize, and craft persuasive category stories. Stay current on emerging food trends, competitor activity, and market dynamics to inform category plays and innovation.

Innovation & Product Lifecycle Management
  • Build and maintain a 2-year pipeline of new products rooted in consumer insight and culinary trends. Manage the end-to-end lifecycle from ideation through launch, growth, and delisting, ensuring product features and platforms align with strategy and consumer value.

Positioning, Storytelling & Communication
  • Define positioning, value propositions, and packaging direction in partnership with Brand. Deliver compelling storytelling and clear reporting to cross-functional teams, ensuring mobilization against category goals.

Cross-Functional Collaboration & Project Management
  • Partner with Sales Planning, Supply Chain, Culinary, Finance, and Store Operations to deliver on strategies and launches. Manage timelines, prioritize projects, and keep initiatives moving using Stage Gate or similar tools.

Key Qualifications
  • University degree in Business, Marketing, or a related field.
  • 7+ years of experience in Category Management, Brand Marketing, CPG, Retail, or Restaurant/QSR.
  • Strong knowledge of category management principles, 4P planning, and key performance drivers.
  • Proven track record of developing and commercializing new products from idea to launch.
  • Highly skilled in analyzing consumer, shopper, POS, loyalty, and digital data to create actionable insights.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and Word.
  • Strong cross-functional collaboration and influencing skills; thrives in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment.
  • Excellent communication, storytelling, and organizational skills.
  • Comfort sampling a wide range of foods, including meat, dairy, wheat/gluten, and sugar (reasonable accommodation considered).

Preferred:
  • Experience with BI and data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI).
  • Knowledge of Stage Gate or similar product development processes.
  • Passion for food with curiosity about evolving tastes, trends, and eating habits.
