Personal Support Worker – Aspira Empire Crossing Retirement Living, Port Hope, Ontario
Rate of Pay : $19.43 - $20.70 per hour.
Reporting to an Associate Director of Care, you will build lasting relationships with residents who call Aspira Empire Crossing Retirement Living home. In this role you will know each resident by name and story, and will work to cultivate happiness in their daily life. You will support seniors’ dignity, comfort, and respect in a fast‑paced environment.

What You’ll Be Doing
As a Personal Support Worker you will form a deep understanding of each resident and their living experience. You will build relationships with residents and their families, offering a variety of support options and program choices that enrich their daily health and well‑being. As an individual and part of a wider team you will be a strong contributor to the culture of the home, focused on helping residents live fully every day.
How You’ll Succeed
Provide resident supervision and assistance with activities of daily living including eating, dressing, hygiene, and grooming as per individual plans of care.Assist with communication and connections, encouraging residents to use sensory aids such as glasses or hearing aids.With additional prescribed training, administer specific medication under the supervision of a registered health professional.Ensure residents have constant and easy access to mobility or assistive devices such as canes, walkers, call bells.Provide ongoing cognitive, social, emotional, and spiritual support; and oral and dental care.Encourage residents to participate in programs offered by the Resident Experience Team, whether individual or in groups.Who You Are
Compassionate and dedicated to meaningful work that supports seniors in living life fully.Completed a Personal Support Worker program from an approved college or private institution, or an internationally educated nurse with a nursing degree.Detail-oriented and proficient in procedures and techniques involved in providing simple treatment and bedside care to residents.Exercising tact and diplomacy in working with seniors, their families, and visitors.What You Need To Know
