Working Hours : 40-45 hours per week, Flexible working hours
The Program Coordinator will be based in America House – Ramallah but will travel occasionally in Jerusalem and parts of the West Bank in support of American Spaces programs and activities. S / he will receive administrative supervision and programmatic guidance from the American Spaces Deputy Director based in Jerusalem.
Responsibilities :
- Develop, schedule, and implement programs and activities at America House in accordance with the 5 American Spaces pillars (English language learning, EducationUSA advising, alumni engagement, accurate and current information about the U.S., and U.S. culture and society) and with U.S. Embassy mission goals, in coordination with the US Embassy diplomacy team
- Provide technical assistance and support, as needed, to America House guests, speakers, and volunteers
- Maintain regular and direct contact with the American Spaces team and US Embassy colleagues when necessary
- Create social media content (Facebook and Instagram) to provide information, to engage target audiences, and to promote the American Spaces brand and its activities
- Respond to enquiries for information about American Spaces programs and activities
- Develop and implement outreach strategy aimed at promoting the American Spaces, in coordination with the American Spaces team and US Embassy
- Provide America House visitors, volunteers, and presenters with appropriate training materials and administrative support
- Gather and report program participant feedback before and after events for program monitoring and evaluation purposes
- Draft weekly highlights of programs and activities at America House for review by the Cultural Affairs Specialist
- Compile monthly and quarterly statistics reports for America House programs and activities
- Supervise intern(s) at America House
- Travel required to America House Ramallah / Jerusalem and / or U.S. Embassy Jerusalem as needed
- Perform other related duties as assigned
Duties :
Answer incoming telephone calls and emails and respond to inquiries about America House programs and activitiesPlan, coordinate, and deliver program activities to meet organizational goals and participant needs.Ensure visitors to America House feel welcome, safe, and respectedPromote the use of America House as a safe space for youth in the community to learn about U.S. culture and societyGreet and receive visitors, respond to their questions, provide information, and assist as necessaryFollow all security protocols and report anomalies to the American Spaces Cultural Affairs Specialist and DirectorOrganize and maintain electronic database and paper files related to America House programs, activities, and administrationProvide on-site logistical and administrative support for all America House programs and activitiesOrder, maintain, and inventory office and activity supplies in collaboration with the American Spaces teamAttend weekly staff meetings and fortnightly section meetings; attend other administrative meetings as requestedCreate and maintain engaging social media content for America House target audiencesConduct biannual inventory of all technological assets and report anomalies to American Spaces Cultural Affairs Specialist and DirectorEnsure secure storage of supplies and technological assets at the end of each dayGather audience feedback after events and report to American Spaces Director and Deputy, make suggestions based on feedback providedDraft weekly highlights of activities at America House Jerusalem / Ramallah to the American Spaces Deputy Director for review and submission to weekly reporting requirementsTravel required to America House Ramallah / Jerusalem and / or U.S. Embassy JerusalemPerform other related duties as assignedQUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS :
Required
An undergraduate degree in education or related social sciencesAt least three years of relevant experienceResident of RamallahExceptional written and spoken English and fluent Arabic; ability to perform oral presentations in either languageOrganized, conscientious, and detail-orientedExcellent communication and organizational skillsPositive attitude and ability to work as part of a teamAbility to multi-task in a busy workplace environmentAbility to work independently as well as part of a team and be self-directed and motivatedFlexible work scheduleProficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook required; familiarity with online and social media programs and tools strongly preferred but not requiredThe above SOW is not intended to be all-inclusive; the employee may be asked to perform other reasonable related duties as assigned by the Country Director and other managers when necessary.
