Junior Data Analyst
Support strategic data-driven initiatives in the insurance industry with a hybrid contract role based in Waterloo. This opportunity is ideal for those with foundational analytics skills, offering hands-on experience in business analysis, data visualization tools like Tableau or PowerBI, and stakeholder collaboration.

Responsibilities :
Assist in requirement collection, research, and analysis to understand business issues.Actively participate on cross-functional project teams and support analytics solution development.Own and manage assigned tasks.Work on problems of limited scope or complexity, following standard practices and procedures.Develop ability to generate relevant, actionable insights through iterative data analysis.Translate data-driven outputs into business language and provide recommendations.Collaborate with business stakeholders to identify opportunities for revenue generation, efficiency improvement, and data-driven insights.Provide analysis on basic business needs and support potential analytics solutions under guidance.Communicate analytics insights and facilitate implementation.Share requirements and insights with senior team members and junior business partners.Participate in meetings with subject matter experts to understand business needs and analytics insights.Build a fundamental understanding of the business value chain and customer lifecycle.Ask relevant questions to peers and customers to gain knowledge.Share ideas, participate in brainstorming sessions, and provide rationale behind suggestions.Build stable working relationships across teams and expand internal network.Seek coaching and apply feedback to improve performance.Take ownership of career development by leveraging available learning resources.Understand how assigned tasks contribute to broader project objectives.What you will need to succeed :
Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Statistics, Math, Computer Science, or Engineering; or equivalent technical experience.Basic knowledge of data visualization tools such as Tableau, QlikView, or PowerBI.Foundational understanding of data transformation for BI reporting.Basic understanding of SQL for AdHoc reporting.Introductory knowledge of AI toolkits.Ability to support the development of systematic processes for implementing analytics insights :Design processes with defined roles and responsibilities.Identify tasks, system / data flows, and contingencies.Specify checks and balances.Establish tracking and closed-loop learning mechanisms.Assist in scalable implementation of such processes.Assist in gathering, documenting, and analyzing business requirements.Help translate business problems into analytics tasks with guidance.Support development of conceptual prototypes and mock-ups of analytics solutions.Communicate analytics findings and solutions to business stakeholders.Present insights in a format easily understood by non-technical audiences.Why Recruit Action?
