We are looking for a Staff Accountant to join our Corporate Finance practice. This role leverages your CPA training and expertise to deliver high‑impact financial advisory services, including mergers & acquisitions, due diligence, financial modeling, and strategic analysis. You will collaborate with clients and senior professionals to support major business decisions.
Your Role
- Lead and coordinate financial due diligence for buy‑side and sell‑side transactions, including analysis of financial statements, business plans, and public data.
- Prepare quality of earnings reports, identify key issues, risks, and valuation impacts, and present findings to clients and stakeholders.
- Build and review financial models for transaction analysis, scenario planning, and valuation purposes.
- Deliver corporate finance advisory services, including capital raising, restructuring, and integration planning.
- Collaborate with clients, legal advisors, and internal teams to ensure seamless transaction execution.
- Prepare clear, concise reports and presentations for clients and management, ensuring accuracy and compliance with professional standards.
- Ensure all work adheres to CPA standards, regulatory requirements, and internal controls.
- Identify opportunities to enhance processes, tools, and client service delivery.
What you bring to the table
- CPA designation (or in progress); CBV or CFA is an asset.
- 2+ years’ experience in professional services, corporate finance, or transaction advisory.
- Undergraduate degree in Accounting, Finance, or related discipline with strong academic credentials.
- Advanced financial analysis and modeling skills (Excel, Power BI, or similar).
- Solid understanding of Canadian GAAP (ASPE/IFRS), tax principles, and corporate finance concepts.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills; able to present complex information clearly to clients and team members.
- Attention to detail, analytical thinking, and adaptability to unstructured projects and timelines.
- Commitment to professional ethics, confidentiality, and continuous learning.
