Position Overview
Reporting to the Regional Director, the Seawater Production Director is a key member of the Executive Management team of Grieg Seafood NL. This role has prime responsibility for all aspects of the seawater production, the key objectives being to ensure the production of a superior quality product produced in a manner that meets or exceeds the expectations of our customers in terms of quality, size and farming practices. The incumbent will be required to ensure that all farming processes comply with all relevant regulations and external / internal standards adopted by the business.
The Director will oversee and participate in development of biological plans and communicate and oversee the Seawater Team’s implementation of these plans. The incumbent will develop the seawater production budget based on biological plans and will participate and lead the seawater team’s input to the biological planning process.

The ideal candidate will hold a Bachelor’s degree in a related discipline with ten (10) years of Marine and / or Aquaculture experience and a minimum of five (5) years related managerial experience. A combination of education and experience will be considered.
The incumbent will possess strong leadership skills; excellent Project Management skills; good verbal and written communication skills; and the ability to problem solve.The ideal candidate will also have well-developed interpersonal skills including experience in team building and goal-setting, and demonstrate competency and strong skills in all software applications used by Grieg Seafood. A valid driver’s license is required.
The Seawater Production is ideally based in Marystown and works 40 hours on average per week Monday to Friday. However, Grieg Seafood is open to a flexible and / or hybrid work schedule within Newfoundland. An expectation is that they will be spending time on sites as well and they will be on call in case of an emergency.
