ABOUT THE NEWLY INSTITUTE

The Newly Institute was founded to provide long-lasting change within the mental health industry, our community, and with our clients. We are leading a paradigm shift in the Canadian healthcare system by building a network of purpose-built mental health clinics across Canada. By fusing a bio-psycho-social-spiritual treatment model with medically managed therapies, our intensive outpatient programs provide rapid access, rapid resolution, and rapid return to work and healthy lifestyle programs for anxiety, depression, addiction, post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), trauma, and chronic pain.

WHAT YOU WILL DO

• Perform comprehensive OT assessments to confirm the injured worker’s current level of functional ability and activities of daily living (ADLs) through standardized testing and / or self-report, while also gathering relevant psychosocial information (e.g., mental health history, coping strategies, and trauma considerations) that may impact function and recovery.
• Attend program rounds and case conferences to contribute assessment findings and collaborate with an interdisciplinary team (e.g., physicians, psychologists, physiotherapists, and other allied health professionals) in developing recommendations and care planning.
• Conduct returntowork (RTW) planning, and 1-1 occupational therapy treatment for a range of mental health conditions.
• Collaborate closely with colleagues, as well as third party funders.
• Complete detailed assessment and progress reports within 5 business days.
• Provide such other services as may be reasonably required by the Company, and as mutually agreed upon.

Professional Registration / Designation

Technical Competences

Proficiency in the Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Teams is required. Proficiency with Electronic Medical Records (EMR) systems is also required.
