The Opportunity

The Home & Auto Insurance team provides financial security to Canadians by offering superior products and services. The Senior Product Specialist is the product expert, responsible for product design, underwriting rules, risk selection, and strategic product initiatives.
How You Will Create Impact
- Research, evaluate and author underwriting rules and risk selection guidelines.
- Monitor external activities to identify potential legal, regulatory, and emerging issues.
- Design products and oversee development and maintenance of base policy wordings and forms across companies, ensuring compliance and sustainability.
- Provide leadership and subject‑matter expertise to project teams implementing product‑related changes.
- Partner with Communications and Training teams to provide background information and content for policy wordings, forms, questionnaires, reference and training materials.
- Support portfolio profitability by analyzing, identifying and quantifying potential solutions to identified problems.
- Assist in portfolio and broker acquisitions, support due diligence, and assess portfolio quality for product conversion recommendations.
- Represent the company to internal and external stakeholders such as Public Affairs, Government Relations, Ombudsman Office, and regulators.

Minimum 5 years successful Personal Lines underwriting experience (preferred).Chartered Insurance Professional (CIP) designation and / or FCIP with a major in Underwriting or Risk Management (preferred).University degree in Business, Economics, Mathematics, or equivalent experience (preferred).Expert knowledge of Personal Lines products, policy wordings, training materials, Insurance Acts and provincial legislation / requirements.English proficiency; primary work with majority non‑francophone teams; French is an asset but not required.What You Need To Know

Expected salary range : $85,000 - $100,000. Salary determined by Co‑operators in discretion, varying based on market conditions, geography, and job‑related factors such as knowledge, skills, qualification, experience and education.
