Senior Accountant
Our client is searching for a Senior Accountant to join their team. This role will be responsible for the financial and operational reporting of the company.
A successful candidate will deploy the financial strategy, and metrics to reflect that strategy. This role reports directly to the Controller.
Your success will be defined by your ability to :
- Assist in accounting and budgeting for initiatives and monitoring activity
- Manage the capital request and budgeting processes, including reporting on actuals and variance analysis
- Develop performance measures that support the company’s strategic direction
- Support operational growth with analysis and metrics to ensure targets are met, including assistance in ad hoc inquiries and projects and calculation of commissions
- Assist the administrative departments with holiday coverage and as an escalation point of contact
- Manage the operating cash flow and all aspects of accounts payable, accounts receivable, and other incoming / outgoing cash functions
- Oversee the issuance of financial information, including consolidated financial statements for three divisions
- Responsible for variance analysis and corrective action, including collaboration with departments and external parties
- Work with all departments to understand financial metrics, budgets and reporting
- Prepare working papers on a quarterly basis
- Maintain complex deferred revenue and prepaid schedules monthly
- Oversee preparation of year-end in conjunction with other accountants
- Work closely with other departments to clearly understand needs and recommend or report on the direction.
- Be an active member in executing and recommending the company culture strategy
- Engage with marketing and corporate social media to ensure branding guidelines are adhered to and campaign initiatives are recognized
- Maintain a close working relationship with the delivery team to ensure exceptional customer success
Your strengths include :
- Degree or Diploma in Accounting or Business Administration
- 3+ years of progressively responsible experience
- Advanced Excel skills are required
- High level of attention to detail
- Willingness to assist in all functions
