Nanny Wanted - Seeking Caring, Playful, And Experienced Individual For Morning Care In Castlegar, Bc, Beginning January 2026

Hi everyone!

We're looking for a reliable early-morning sitter for our 5-year-old starting January 15th. I’m a 4th-year nursing student at Selkirk College heading into back-to-back acute care practicums, so my schedule is shift-based, typically 12-hour days, both days and nights; we're primarily looking for someone to cover transition periods when my partner and I are starting / finishing work.

What we need :

Arrive : ~5 : 45-6 am

Help with : breakfast getting ready for school; possibly impromptu dance parties!

Drop-off : Castlegar Primary between 7 : 50–8 : 25 am

Transportation : must have a safe, reliable vehicle with adequate insurance (we’re walkable, but winter “side quests” are real)

About our kiddo : He can be shy at first, but once he warms up, he’s all personality—loves building (anything), music / dancing, art, being outdoors, and he’s a bright little guy.

Who we’re hoping to find : Someone who is kind, playful, patient, dependable, punctual, calm, and comfortable with normal 5-year-old energy and big feelings.

Timeline / extra opportunities : Mainly January–April, but we’d love to find someone who can support us longer-term too (I’m hoping to work similar hours in Trail after graduation). We don’t have family nearby, and my partner works full-time in Trail with unpredictable hours, so there may also be options for after-school care, date nights, or a more consistent nanny-style setup (would consider nanny-sharing with the right family).

Pay : We’re open to what works best - hourly, a set amount per morning, or perhaps a weekly retainer to secure availability / on-call support (for someone looking for a steady / guaranteed income).

We’re really sad to be posting this; our previous sitter was amazing and had a great bond with our kiddo, but she’s back in school in January and can’t continue.
