Reports to the Electrical Leadhand / Foreman, and performs duties to install, maintain and repair electrical and electronic systems and equipment. POSTING DETAILS Position - Electrician Start Date - As soon as possible Employment - Permanent, Full-time (40 hrs / wk) Hours - Monday to Friday (7 : 30am to 4 : 00pm) DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES Installs, maintains and repairs electrical systems and equipment.Conducts safety inspections.Carries out preventative maintenance work orders (PM�s).Holds a District purchasing card for the purpose of purchasing materials, and is responsible for the record keeping and reconciliation of the monthly statements.Purchases materials within the Purchasing Policy to obtain the best value for the DistrictOperates tools and equipment of the trade.Respond to emergency situations as requested.Inspects (daily) and operates a service vehicle.Performs other assigned comparable duties which are within the scope of knowledge, skills and abilities required by this class specification. REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS Completion of Grade 12.Apprenticeship and / or Trades Qualification Certificate (Electrical).One year's related experience in an industrial / commercial setting including alarms and controls.B.C.
