Electrician
The Burnaby School District is looking to hire a full-time Electrician to workthroughout the district startingas soon as possible.
This positioninstalls, maintains, repairs,and tests a variety of electrical / electronic systems andequipment to ensure the safety and operation of district buildings andfacilities.
Applicants must have : · Completion of Grade12 or equivalent· Electrical Trades Qualification (TQ)· Four years relatedwork experience post-TQ· Valid B.
C. Driver’sLicense (Class 5)Applicants are expected tohave : · Thorough knowledge of construction and construction safetypractices· Experience in readingblueprints· Recent BC Electrical Code training / refresher· The physical condition and health to perform the duties andresponsibilities of the job (including climbing ladders / scaffolds, working in crawl / confined spaces, and liftingand carrying heavy materials / objects)· Good interpersonal skills includingverbal and writtencommunication skillsApplicants must be : · Knowledgeable of safetyprocedures and materials, methods and equipment related to carpentry· A self-starter with an ability to organize daily tasks, workindependently and as a member of a team This position pays $41.
27 perhour , complemented by a comprehensive benefits package which includesdental, extended health benefits, pension, paid sick time, paid vacation time,education fund and other incentives.
