The Role

Our Mitchell Plastics Kitchener facility is looking for a  Production Scheduler. The Incumbent of this role is a key player in the organization and scheduling of all production requirements, while ensuring we are able to meet customer requirements in a fast-paced, “just-in-time” environment. Cooperation with the Production, Customer Service, Purchasing and Maintenance Teams is essential for this position.  While this is a straight Day shift position at this time, Candidates must be flexible in their working hours to ensure that business needs are covered, and be willing to work overtime as is necessary.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Schedule / Plan all customer requirements to achieve requested delivery dates.
  • Schedule / Plan service requirements, trial requests, build-outs & stock-building.
  • Schedule / Plan downtime for tool / press / fixture / paintline repair or preventative maintenance.
  • Meet daily with Production staff to discuss and review problems affecting schedule status.
  • Support Capacity Meetings and Engineering Change Management - execute plan changes & ensure smooth inventory changeover
  • PM downtime planning, tools, assembly, maintenance and paintlines.
  • Any other duties as assigned.
  • Minimum Requirements

  • Minimum 2 years related scheduling experience within the automotive industry (APICS certificate an asset)
  • Comprehensive understanding of materials requirement planning, demand management & forecasting
  • Excellent interpersonal & communication skills (written and oral), collaborative teamwork approach
  • Analytical problem-solving abilities with strategic planning and outstanding organizational skills
  • Intermediate computer skills including Excel, MSWord, Outlook
  • Good mathematical aptitude with a keen eye for detail
