We are seeking a Senior Manager – People & Culture , based out of our Toronto or Montreal office .
This role is responsible for the development and implementation of a Human Resource Management strategy, administration and continuing evolution of the company’s HR team and functions for Canada & USA. Working with the Executive Team, this position will address all Human Resources needs including : strategic management; risk management, learning and development; workforce planning and employment strategies; total rewards; and employee and labour relations.
This position will lead the development of HR best practices and be a valued business partner with the Executive Team.
Responsibilities :
- Participate as a partner in the organization’s strategic planning process.
- Act as a professional advisor to the Executive team on all aspects of Human Resource Management.
- Develop a strategic plan for the Human Resources department which incorporates goals and objectives that work towards the strategic direction of DRA
- Ensure Human Resources department strategies are aligned with DRA strategies and provides strategic leadership and general direction to HR Team by translating the strategic and tactical business plans into HR strategic and operational plans.
- Define and execute key initiatives and projects to drive strong HR process methodology.
- Ensure that the programs and services offered by the Human Resources department contribute to the organization's mission and reflect the priorities of the Board.
- Proven expert knowledge in human resources functions; initiates and leads human resources strategy discussions and generates plans for implementation in accordance with DRA objectives.
- Provide direction and guidance during changes in organizational processes, operations, and culture that balances the expectations and needs of the organization, its employees, and other stakeholders.
- Cultivate leadership and ethical values in self and others through modelling and teaching.
- Foster a workplace environment consistent with the values and mission outlined by the leadership of company.
- As required, champion increase of needed manpower across DRA to support growth objectives, and meeting contractual requirements.
- Maintains key matrix relationships with HR Group Function, Regional HR, Client management and Corporate functions (IT, Finance, others)
- Monitor legislative environment for proposed changes in law and take appropriate action to support, modify, or stop the proposed action.
- Human Resources governance to ensure the effective management of risk, accountability and performance. This includes the formulation, development and embedment of the related process, policy and procedure.
- Assist the executive team in formulating policies in relation to the Human Resources
- Make policy recommendations and carry out board policies.
- Learning and development activities
- Develop human resource planning models to identify competency, knowledge and talent gaps and develop specific programs for the filling of the gaps.
- Workforce planning and Operations to meet the goals and objectives of DRA
- Oversee and evaluate the development, selection, and administration of all benefit programs.
- Evaluate the ratios of DRA salaries to that of the benchmarking data within the industry.
- Promote, monitor, and measure the effectiveness of employee relations activities and recommend alternative processes and tools when necessary.
- Assist in establishing work rules and monitor their applications and enforcement to ensure fairness and consistency.
- Oversee and evaluate the development of grievance and disciplinary policies and procedures to ensure fairness and consistency.
- Manage Employee Relations activities and resolves employee relations issues in an effective and timely manner
Qualifications
Tertiary Education in a Human Resources or an equivalent fieldProfessional CHRA or similar would be advantageous10+ years' experience in Human Resources.10+ years' general experience and understanding of problem solving, risk assessment, developing advanced level analysis, people management etc.Indepth Knowledge of Human Resources Management as well as Organizational PsychologyStrong organizational, critical thinking and communications skillsKnowledge of performance appraisal and performance management methods.Employment type : Permanent
