Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated MRI Technologist to join our medical imaging team. The successful candidate will play a vital role in performing high-quality MRI procedures while ensuring patient safety, comfort, and excellent service.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform MRI examinations in accordance with established protocols and physician requests.
  • Prepare and position patients, ensuring their safety and comfort throughout the procedure.
  • Operate MRI equipment to capture high-quality diagnostic images.
  • Review images for technical quality and collaborate with radiologists to confirm diagnostic findings.
  • Adhere to MRI safety guidelines, including screening patients for contraindications to magnetic fields or contrast agents.
  • Maintain accurate and detailed patient records in compliance with organizational and regulatory standards.
  • Troubleshoot equipment issues and perform routine maintenance checks.
  • Stay informed about advancements in MRI technology and imaging techniques.

Qualifications

  • Diploma or degree in Medical Radiation Technology or equivalent.
  • Active registration with the Alberta College of Medical Diagnostic and Therapeutic Technologists (ACMDTT) .
  • Certification with the Canadian Association of Medical Radiation Technologists (CAMRT) or equivalent.
  • Proficiency with MRI equipment from manufacturers such as Siemens, GE, or Philips.
  • Experience in MRI imaging is an asset, with a preference for 1–2 years of related experience.
  • Skills and Abilities

  • In-depth knowledge of MRI imaging techniques and protocols.
  • Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills to provide patient-centered care.
  • Strong organizational and analytical abilities to assess image quality.
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a multidisciplinary healthcare team.
  • Commitment to maintaining confidentiality and ethical standards.
  • Work Environment

  • Based in a hospital or diagnostic imaging center.
  • May require shift work, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
  • Physical demands include standing for extended periods and assisting patients with mobility.
