Remote Work :

This position is eligible for remote work, within Canada, under our mobile workforce program.

The Program Manager - Sales Technology will be supporting the vision and development of WestJet's B2B partnerships through solution driven technology, data, and applications. This role is integral to our data transformation journey. This position will act as a champion for WestJet's Sales team, supporting the design, development, and execution of the sales technology roadmap in partnership with internal and external stakeholders. As the successful candidate, you'll harness a mix of project management skills, a passion for problem solving, and approaching data from an end-user perspective as the go-to on the Sales team for technology projects. You will be responsible for creating insights into business problems to meet and exceed the company goals. This Program Manager will be empowered to apply independent thinking with a solution-driven mindset while working collaboratively with others.

Key deliverables include :

  • Develop and execute on the sales technology roadmap, acting as a SME by ensuring internal stakeholders have the tools and information necessary to support decision making
  • Represent the Sales team as a project lead on technology projects, ensuring timely and effective communications throughout the process
  • Manage financial risk through the creation of defined processes, and documentation to ensure that accuracy and timeliness of partner incentive payments
  • Develop automated systems to integrate a wide range of data sources for creative insights into business problems and to align performance with the company's strategic goals
  • Develop and implement systems and technology to produce decision support tools that enable leaders and system practitioners to take strategic action in a dynamic competitive environment
  • Represent the business unit on large cross-business unit projects, proactively identifying potential risks or issues to the business and several plausible solutions to each risk / issue
  • Develop innovative solutions, incorporating data science in business processes and solutions.

Experience and qualifications :

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Economics, IT, Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent experience
  • 5+ years of experience working with enterprise data
  • Excellent communication, presentation skills and a unique ability to bridge the gap between executive technical, and front-line audiences
  • Highly motivated, organized with the ability to work autonomously and within a team
  • Solid understanding of the underlying theory and principles of data science and artificial intelligence would be an asset
  • Understanding of database management systems, data warehousing, online analytical processing (OLAP) and ETL (Extract, transform, load) framework
  • Proficiency or working knowledge of SQL, R, Python, Shiny, VBA, or Snowflake
  • Highly self-motivated and willing to proactively take on leadership roles within projects
  • Airline experience would be considered a strong asset
