Duties
As the Regional Manager, Engineering and Maintenance (RMEM), you will have the provincial responsibility to manage the planning, budgeting and prioritization of the Correctional Services of Canada (CSC) facilities management. Facilities management includes all engineering and maintenance services required for the provision of multidisciplinary facility maintenance services, including but not limited to the management of an operation and maintenance program (O&M), Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) program, a computerized maintenance management system (CMMS), electronic safety systems and energy consumption. Your team will include maintenance specialists, facility managers, various trades and administrative staff. The annual budget of this division represents approximately 20 million dollars.
Work environment
The Facilities Management Team consists of employees who occupy positions in various trades and are responsible for providing services in the maintenance, repair and replacement of physical assets, systems and related equipment such as : buildings, fences and barriers, HVAC systems, plumbing fixtures and piping, electrical systems, indoor and outdoor lighting, backup power generators, roads, land, water production, waste water treatment, petroleum storage tanks, vehicles, grounds keeping, snow removal, waste management and recycling and maintenance of electronic security systems.
The work is performed in an office environment at Regional Headquarters located in Kingston, ON. However, the Regional Manager, Engineering and Maintenance, will be required to visit various federal correctional facilities in the region to :
Gather engineering data for project proposals
Investigate technical issues
Attend meetings with external partners and staff
Monitor ongoing projects

SELECTION PROCESS STAGES
This selection process has four stages :
Stage 1 - Screening
The applications will be reviewed (screened), specifically the responses to the seven (7) questions assessing the essential education and experience imbedded in this job advertisement.

Stage 2 - Take-Home Written Exam
The take-home written exam is anticipated to commence in August 2024.
Stage 3 - Interview
Interviews, anticipated to commence in August / September 2024, may be completed in person or by Microsoft (MS) Teams.
Stage 4 - Reference Checks
Two references will be requested during stage 3. References may be contacted in September 2024.
Candidates may be asked to complete a questionnaire on asset qualifications (education and experience) at any stage of the process.
Volume management methods may be utilized, specifically by focusing on those candidates who meet the asset qualifications. If to be applied, this will be coordinated through the above-mentioned questionnaire.
