The Opportunity

Reporting directly to the Plant Manager, this role leads the maintenance strategy, planning, and performance at our Montreal plant.

The position strengthens a reliability-focused maintenance model, balancing preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance to support production performance, equipment availability, food safety, and cost control.

What You’ll Do

Leadership & Team Management

• Lead, coach, and develop the maintenance team (technicians, planner, supervisor) to ensure safe, effective daily operations
• Provide clear direction and priorities while empowering the Maintenance Supervisor to manage day-to-day execution
• Foster a collaborative, inclusive, and multicultural work environment

Maintenance Planning & Reliability

• Develop, implement, and continuously improve preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance programs
• Reduce unplanned downtime and improve equipment reliability across 7 production lines
• Align maintenance priorities with Production and Planning to ensure timely and effective response to operational needs

Operations, Financial Management & Continuous Improvement

• Manage and coordinate external contractors, service providers, and suppliers
• Oversee spare parts management, inventory accuracy, and budget control
• Participate in the development and management of the maintenance budget
• Develop, justify, and execute CapEx projects and continuous improvement initiatives
• Track and achieve KPIs related to downtime, cost control, team performance, and collaboration with Production and QA

Health, Safety & Food Safety Compliance

• Ensure compliance with all Health & Safety regulations and company standards
• Ensure adherence to food safety requirements in a ready-to-eat manufacturing environment, including HACCP and GMP
• Maintain accurate safety, maintenance, and equipment records
• Promote a strong safety-first culture on the production floor

Systems & Performance

• Leverage the Fiix CMMS to manage work orders, assets, KPIs, and preventive maintenance programs
• Analyze maintenance data to assess workload, performance, and improvement opportunities

What You Bring

• 8+ years of maintenance leadership in food or pharmaceutical manufacturing
• Experience with high-speed packaging equipment and Ishida scales
• Strong knowledge of PLCs, automation, electrical systems, robotics, and refrigeration
• Proven leadership, problem-solving, and stakeholder collaboration skills
• Bilingual English/French – French for Quebec operations; English for global collaboration
