About the Role
Spirit Omega Inc. is seeking a skilled Field Heavy Duty Mechanic to support our client’s onsite operations by maintaining and repairing a wide range of heavy equipment—primarily Cummins and John Deere engines. This position focuses on preventative maintenance, troubleshooting, and on?site equipment repair to ensure optimal performance and safety.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys working independently, problem?solving on active jobsites, and providing high?quality customer service.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform scheduled preventative maintenance and service on equipment located at customer facilities.
- Complete oil and filter changes, lubrication services, tire replacements, hose repairs, battery replacements, and other field service tasks.
- Diagnose and repair issues related to electrical, hydraulic, fuel, mechanical, and propane systems.
- Recondition or replace parts to restore equipment to safe working order.
- Review equipment for wear or potential failure and recommend corrective actions.
- Provide customers with guidance on proper equipment operation to prevent avoidable downtime.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safety?compliant work area on each jobsite.
- Produce accurate and timely service reports and digital repair logs.
- Follow company field service procedures and uphold safety protocols.
- Build positive relationships with customers and onsite personnel.
- Complete other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Journeyman Off Road Certification.
- Extensive experience working with generators.
- Strong ability to diagnose, repair, and maintain diesel engines, including Cummins and John Deere.
- Excellent communication skills and a customer-focused approach.
- Ability to multitask and work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to work independently.
- Valid Class 5 driver’s license.
- A clean and recent driver’s abstract will be required.
