Your Responsibilities
Install, maintain, inspect, repair and troubleshoot a variety of electrical equipment and systems up to 27,600 volts (such as conduits, cable trays, power cables, high voltage terminations and switchgear.
Perform testing and prepare reports.
Act as Controlling Authority in establishing changes to the High Voltage System.
Provide technical expertise as required.
Install conduits, cable trays, power cables, high voltage terminations, switchgear and related equipment in and around buildings, structures and tunnels.
Contribute to subject matter development through research, analysis and recommendations of solutions.
Participate in the execution of various projects and assignments.
Your Profile
High School Diploma and Apprenticeship Program, or Powerline Technician Apprenticeship Equivalency, Municipal Electrical Associations equivalent or equivalency .
Provincial Certificate of Qualification as an Electrician (309-A Construction and Maintenance Electrician License or non-apprenticed 442-A license - ON).
Utility Work Protection Code Certification.
Valid DZ (ON) driver's license with an insurable driving record.
Minimum of five (5) years practical technical experience as a Powerline Technician within a 27.6 KV Distribution Environment, or similar.
Minimum of two (2) years of experience as a Construction & Maintenance Electrician.
Knowledge of applicable procedures, rules, regulations, standards and safe work practices with respect to performing duties.
Knowledge of applicable procedures, rules, regulations, standards, and safe work practices related to job duties.
Valid driver’s license (Class G in Ontario or Class 5 in Quebec), and an insurable driving record.
Eligible for Marine Transportation Security Clearance.
Availability to undergo a medical examination and functional capacity evaluation.
Ability to work at heights, in depths, near open water, and in confined spaces.
