Our client is looking to add an experienced Intermediate or Senior-level Structural Engineer to their team in the KWC-area. This firm is a multidisciplinary engineering consulting firm servicing Southwestern Ontario.
Offering civil, structural, mechanical, electrical, and geomatics services to both private and public clients. This is a mid-sized company with a family-feel that values creativity, innovation, and "out-of-the-box" thinking is highly encouraged.
Role & Responsibilities :
- Design of municipal infrastructure projects in SW Ontario, creation of design documentation and files.
- Lead engineering projects, from beginning to end. Concept to construction.
- Preparation of hydrologic and hydraulic models, flood management studies, collection and analysis of relevant data.
- Design of stormwater management, wastewater and water services, roads, stream rehabilitation, and flood mitigation.
- Work on land development projects for subdivisions, site development, road and drain construction and / or reconstructions.
- Creation of proposals, budgeting, cost estimates.
- Collaborate with internal colleagues in other engineering disciplines, leading project meetings and communicating necessary information.
- Work directly with clients onsite, maintain regular communication with regulatory and approving authorities.
- Create and review project deliverables (drawings, reports) for accuracy, paying strong attention to detail.
- Keep aware of current and upcoming industry expectations, codes, standards, and customer needs.
- Assist with business development, new opportunities, and client relationships.
- Help mentor and monitor junior staff.
The Ideal Candidate Has :
Minimum 5+ years of experience in civil engineering projects (water resources, environmental)P.Eng designation in Ontario through PEO is mandatory.Bachelor and / or postsecondary studies in civil engineering.Ability to communicate with various stakeholders (colleagues, field staff, clients, approving municipalities), act as a team-player. Convey technical ideas in an easy-to-understand matterDetail-oriented, thorough, organized, and methodical approach to tasks.Self-motivated to continuously improve, ability to plan strategically, and work independently.Creative problem-solver, welcome unorthodox approaches to resolving issues.Ability to commute and travel for site visits.Capable of managing multiple projects concurrently.Familiarity with water resources engineering, water infrastructure projects.Understanding of Ontario Buildings Code, engineering standards and practices. Local, municipal and provincial guidelines.LID development, understanding of hydraulics and hydrogeology.Microsoft Office Suite, SWM design, flow models.Perks / Benefits :
