Yard and Inventory Coordinator
SECURE Fort St John, British Columbia, Canada
This role supports our Production Chemicals division by ensuring blended chemicals and related products are safely stored, accurately tracked, and efficiently shipped. Responsibilities include operating a loader, maintaining on‑site inventory, supporting sales staff with product coordination, and ensuring all materials are correctly labelled and compliant with TDG regulations.
A Day in the Life
- Load and unload incoming and outgoing deliveries using a loader in accordance with company policies, ISO 9001 procedures, and TDG requirements
- Maintain valid loader training / ticket and operate material handling equipment safely and efficiently
- Conduct weekly inventory counts and manage inventory records using Microsoft Excel
- Maintain accurate inventory control in a fast‑paced, high‑volume environment
- Assist with field deliveries as required
- Prepare materials for shipment, including stenciling, labeling, palletizing, shrink wrapping and banding
- Complete all assigned tasks accurately, efficiently, and in a timely manner
- Use small hand tools and handling equipment safely
- Communicate effectively with the SECURE sales team and external vendors to support operational and inventory needs
- Demonstrate strong organizational skills to support day‑to‑day inventory movement
- Understand and comply with all safety, environmental requirements, and company policies
- Perform all work in accordance with established safety and environmental policies and procedures
- Actively contribute to initiatives that improve workplace safety and promote a healthy working environment
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work area
- Be available for on‑call support during evenings and weekends to assist the Production Chemicals team
- Perform additional duties as assigned by Sales and Operations staff
Skills, Experience & Qualifications
Minimum of a High School Diploma or equivalentValid Forklift or Loader certification with 1‑2 years of operating experience; experience handling liquid‑based materials is considered an assetCurrent TDG, WHMIS, and First Aid certifications (or the ability to obtain them)Physical ability to perform the demands of the role, combined with a positive, safety‑focused attitudeAbility to work outdoors in all weather conditionsBasic maintenance aptitude and computer proficiency; experience with inventory systems is a strong assetKnowledge of oil and gas chemicals is considered an assetStrong verbal communication skills and the ability to follow instructionsCollaborative mindset with the ability to work effectively as part of a teamBenefits
