Job description

The Role : As a Registered Nurse in a Rehabilitation unit, you will provide patient-focused care to individuals recovering from illness, injury, or surgery. You will play a critical role in supporting patients as they regain their independence and achieve their functional goals, working collaboratively with an interdisciplinary team.

Responsibilities :

Perform comprehensive assessments of patients’ physical, emotional, and cognitive health to develop individualized care plans.

Administer medications, therapies, and treatments as prescribed, ensuring adherence to rehabilitation protocols.

Monitor patients’ progress, documenting changes and collaborating with the care team to adjust treatment plans as needed.

Educate patients and families about rehabilitation techniques, exercises, and lifestyle modifications to promote recovery and prevent complications.

Facilitate safe patient mobility and support their participation in therapeutic activities to enhance physical function and independence.

Maintain a safe and supportive environment, following infection control and safety standards.

Provide emotional support and encouragement to patients and families throughout the rehabilitation process.

Requirements :

Completion of a Bachelor’s degree in Nursing or equivalent.

Current, unrestricted RN license in your province or state.

Minimum of 2 years of nursing experience, preferably in a rehabilitation or related setting.

Certification in BLS and ACLS; additional certifications in rehabilitation nursing are an asset.

Strong critical thinking, problem-solving, and communication skills.

Compassionate and patient-centered approach to care.

Familiarity with electronic health records and rehabilitation technologies.

  • Fluent in English and French.
