We are currently looking for a Purchasing Agent to join our team in Hawkesbury, Ontario. Reporting to the Plant Manager, the Purchasing Agent plays a crucial role in facilitating the procurement process within the plant for raw material, supplies and services.

Job Responsibilities

• Resolve vendor or contractor grievances, and claims against suppliers.
• Review contracts for conformance to company policy.
• Administer on-line purchasing systems.
• Prepare and process requisitions and purchase orders for supplies, raw materials, services and equipment.
• Ensure purchased items are delivered timely and as specified on the purchase order.
• Represent company in negotiating and communicating with suppliers. This information can be exchanged in person, in writing, or by telephone or e-mail.
• Observe, receive, and obtain information from all relevant sources.
• Communication -- Provide information to colleagues by telephone, in written form, e-mail, or in person.
• Document and record information -- Enter, transcribe, record, store, and maintain information in written and/or electronic form.
• Process information -- Compile, code, categorize, calculate, tabulate, audit, and verify information or data.
• Organize, Plan, and prioritize work -- Develop specific goals and plans to prioritize, organize, and accomplish tasks.

Qualifications

• 2 years of purchasing experience in a heavy industrial or manufacturing environment
• Working experience with JD Edwards or similar ERP system
• Proficient in MS Office (Excel, Word, Outlook)
• Knowledge of production methods and coordination of resources.
• Knowledge of accounting principles and practices.

• Administrer les systèmes d'achats en ligne.

• Préparer et traiter les demandes et les bons de commande pour les fournitures, les matières premières, les services et l'équipement.

• S'assurer que les articles achetés sont livrés en temps opportun et conformément aux spécifications de la commande.

• Représenter l'entreprise dans les négociations et la communication avec les fournisseurs, que ce soit en personne, par écrit, ou par téléphone ou courriel.

• Observer, recevoir et obtenir des informations de toutes les sources pertinentes.

• Communication - Fournir des informations aux collègues par téléphone, sous forme écrite, par courriel ou en personne.

• Documenter et enregistrer des informations - Entrer, transcrire, enregistrer, stocker et maintenir des informations sous forme écrite et/ou électronique.

• Traiter des informations - Compiler, coder, catégoriser, calculer, tabuler, auditer et vérifier des informations ou des données.

• Organiser, planifier et prioriser le travail - Développer des objectifs et des plans spécifiques pour prioriser, organiser et accomplir les tâches.

LE CANDIDAT IDÉAL POSSEDE :

• 2 ans d'expérience en achats dans un environnement industriel lourd ou manufacturier.

• Expérience de travail avec JD Edwards ou un système ERP similaire.

• Maîtrise de MS Office (Excel, Word, Outlook).

• Connaissance des méthodes de production et de la coordination des ressources.

• Connaissance des principes et des pratiques comptables.
