We are seeking a qualified FP-Anesthetist to provide 0.5 FTE anesthesia services at Bulkley Valley District Hospital (BVDH). Explore diverse career paths with options to engage in primary care, emergency medicine, obstetrics, addictions, or pain medicine. We welcome new graduates and offer a supportive environment for growth and development. Additionally, you may contribute to medical education by teaching with UBC Medicine.

Responsibilities

BVDH schedules 7 OR days per week, with potential to extend to 8 days in the next year. Anesthetists are responsible for:

• Elective OR slates
• Anesthetic consultations
• Obstetric anesthesia (approx. 240 deliveries/year), including epidurals and C-sections, and neonatal resuscitations
• ER consultations for resuscitations, procedural sedations, and procedures such as thoracentesis, paracentesis, and LPs

The anesthesia team values mutual support, a positive work environment, and scheduling flexibility. This position is not suitable for someone seeking full-time anesthesia work.
