Job Description

Partner Staffing is currently working with our client seeking a highly experienced and motivated Senior Transportation Engineer to join their dynamic team in Calgary.

The successful candidate will lead and manage complex transportation infrastructure projects, including roads, highways, bridges, and transit systems, from planning and design through to implementation and completion.

Requirements

Key Responsibilities :

  • Lead and oversee the development of transportation engineering projects from conceptual design to detailed design and construction.
  • Conduct and supervise feasibility studies, impact assessments, and traffic analysis.
  • Prepare and review engineering drawings, specifications, and cost estimates.
  • Collaborate with clients, stakeholders, and multidisciplinary teams to ensure project objectives are met.
  • Provide technical leadership and mentorship to junior engineers and technical staff.
  • Ensure compliance with local, provincial, and federal regulations and standards.
  • Lead public consultations and stakeholder engagement processes.
  • Prepare and review reports, presentations, and documentation for clients and regulatory agencies.
  • Monitor project progress, manage budgets, and make necessary adjustments to ensure successful project delivery.
  • Support business development activities, including proposal preparation and client relationship management.

Qualifications :

  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or a related field.
  • Professional Engineer (P.Eng) designation in Alberta.
  • 7+ years of experience in transportation engineering, with a focus on road and highway design.
  • Proficiency in engineering software such as AutoCAD, Civil 3D, and traffic analysis tools (e.g., SYNCHRO, VISSIM).
  • Strong understanding of transportation planning principles, traffic engineering, and geometric design standards.
  • Proven ability to lead and work collaboratively within a team.

Requirements

Key Responsibilities : Develop and manage comprehensive project plans, schedules, and budgets. Coordinate with stakeholders to define project scope, goals, and deliverables.

Monitor project progress, identify potential risks, and implement mitigation strategies. Lead and mentor a multidisciplinary project team.

Ensure projects comply with all relevant regulations, standards, and best practices. Implement quality control processes to ensure high standards of project delivery.

Conduct regular project reviews and audits. Manage project budgets, track expenditures, and ensure cost-effective resource allocation.

Prepare and present financial reports to stakeholders. Identify opportunities for cost savings and efficiency improvements.

Qualifications : Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Transportation Engineering, Project Management, or a related field.

Professional Engineer (P.Eng) designation or Project Management Professional (PMP) certification preferred. Minimum of 7+ years of experience in transportation project management.

Strong knowledge of transportation infrastructure, including roads, highways, bridges, and public transit systems. Ability to work effectively under pressure and manage multiple priorities.
