Job Description
Land & Joint Solutions provides assured information distribution and management in mission-critical operational environments where conditions are harsh, austere and hostile to ensure the right information, gets to the right place, at the right time, to enable the right actions.
We are looking for a Systems Integration Engineering co-op to join our Coalition and Joint Interoperability team working on the Land Command Support System (LCSS). LCSS provides the Canadian Armed Forces with the highly integrated command and control communications system they need. A highly integrated tactical system composed of communication, networking and information management sub-systems, LCSS is part of every Canadian Army vehicle, weapon platform and headquarters; comprising hardware, firmware and software.
The responsibilities and range of activities may vary, but in general you can expect to :
- Participate in the requirements elicitation process and prepare requirements documents and specifications.
- Develop, document, and review system designs and use cases, define system interfaces, and conduct analyses with support from lead and other senior engineers.
- Prepare integration test plans, test procedures, and test reports in accordance with company and customer standards.
- Execute formal and informal test procedures, gather appropriate measures and data, analyze and interpret test data, and prepare test reports.
- Design, develop, and maintain automated test scripts and tools.
- Identify and investigate system defects and raise problem reports.
- Collaborate with customer, product, and engineering teams.
- Management of requirement mapping to test cases
Qualifications
Currently enrolled in a Bachelor’s degree program or equivalent in Engineering, or an applicable scientific discipline.It would be excellent if the candidate had a combination of the following qualities, but we will work with them to grow in these areas :
Working knowledge of MS Office suite tools including Word, Excel, Visio and PowerPoint.Strong problem solving and root cause analysis skills.Ability to work effectively both independently and in a team environment.Curiosity into how things work and why.Strong communication skills, problem solving and analysis skills, and attention to detail.Enthusiastic contributor, willing to learn new skills, and takes pride and ownership of work.Additional Information
Security Clearance
Must be able to obtain and maintain Canadian Security Clearance and a positive Controlled Goods Assessment. Eligibility to work in Canada either as a Canadian Citizen or Permanent Resident.Applicants may be required to meet additional security requirements in order to gain access to technical data, classified areas or information that is subject to international regulations.
