ABOUT THE ROLE :
The Director, Asset Protection will be responsible for leading Sephora’s Asset Protection team that supports Sephora stores throughout Canada. This leader will develop innovative programs to minimize shrink, theft, and fraud. They will be responsible for safeguarding Sephora’s assets, ensuring the safety of our employees and clients while continuing to deliver a world-class client experience. The Director will also expand the function to encompass risk management strategies, focusing on identifying, evaluating, and mitigating a broad range of risks impacting the organization. This role requires close collaboration with store leadership, cross-functional teams, and crime deterrent task forces to set a vision and strategy for reducing financial and reputational risks.
WHAT YOU'LL DO :
- Develop and implement comprehensive loss prevention and risk management strategies and programs.
- Conduct regular risk assessments and audits to identify potential security vulnerabilities, operational risks, and compliance gaps, ensuring timely mitigation efforts.
- Oversee all security operations, including physical security, surveillance systems, and emergency response protocols.
- Closely manage and mitigate all P&L financial impacts related to shrink and formulate action plans and strategies to achieve company budget targets.
- Lead and implement both short-term solutions and multi-year strategies to ensure the protection of company assets, including properties, inventory, and data.
- Design and execute Asset Protection programs to reduce shrinkage, theft, and fraud; partner with cross-functional teams across the company to formulate, implement, and measure all initiatives.
- Integrate risk management practices into all Asset Protection programs, prioritizing the safety of employees and clients while protecting the organization’s reputation.
- Ensure compliance with all local, state, and federal regulations related to security and loss prevention.
- Understand investigation, policy violation, and compliance trends to identify opportunity areas and develop action plans.
- Regularly assess and recommend improvements to company policies and procedures impacting Asset Protection.
- Analyze financial performance and KPIs related to security and Asset Protection initiatives to inform strategy.
- Stay abreast of industry trends and emerging threats, recommending and implementing innovative solutions through technology, programs, training, and policies.
- Partner with federal, state, and local law enforcement agencies to develop and support key partnerships aimed at solving and mitigating macro industry trends.
- Regularly share progress and insights with executive leadership on both financial performance, security initiatives, and risk management progress.
WHAT YOU’LL BRING :
Bachelor’s degree in Criminal Justice, Business Administration, or a related field.10 years of experience in loss prevention, risk management, retail operations, store leadership, or a relevant field.3-5 years of experience leading a large, market-based employee population.Demonstrated success leading a large market-based employee population and gaining support for company-wide initiatives through influencing, inspiring, and motivating new behaviors.Proven track record of being an inspiring leader known for attracting, developing, and supporting a high-performing team.Understanding of general retail and Loss Prevention operations, shrink levers, and P&L management.Proven ability to build collaborative relationships with stakeholders across all levels of the organization to influence and execute strategies.Excellent negotiation, interpersonal, and communication skills, with a commitment to excellent customer service.Strategic and continuous improvement mindset, with a passion for problem-solving.Ability to work effectively and cultivate strong relationships across all levels of the organization.Availability outside of typical business hours as critical emergencies arise.French speaking is a strong asset.Certifications such as Certified Protection Professional (CPP) or Certified Forensic Interviewer (CFI) or Associate in Risk Management (ARM) are a plus.WHY YOU'LL LOVE WORKING HERE :
