Front Desk Associate (FDA) – Job Description & Requirements
Overview
The Front Desk Associate is the face of the gym and one of our most important positions. As the first person a member or guest sees when they enter the gym, and the last person they see when they leave, the FDA must greet existing and prospective members quickly and with a smile and a warm, friendly attitude. The FDA is responsible for quickly and efficiently assisting guests to ensure their needs are met and that they have a pleasant and satisfying experience. Top‑notch customer service is key for the FDA.
Duties
- Meet & greet anyone who enters the gym quickly and professionally with a friendly attitude and a smile.
- Immediately approach any member or guest so that you can quickly and efficiently assist them with whatever they need.
- Answer the phone in three rings or less with a friendly attitude, using the provided script. Handle the call efficiently and professionally or transfer it to the appropriate staff member.
- Perform various administrative tasks such as filing agreements, collecting past‑due payments, updating billing or contact information, etc.
- Tour every guest through the facility and present and explain membership options and terms.
- Complete the enrollment process for all new members.
- Schedule fitness assessment appointments for every new member with the PT Manager.
- Perform cleaning tasks, locker room checks, restock inventory, prepare smoothies, ring up POS sales, etc.
- Ensure all World Gym policies and procedures are adhered to and that members and staff comply with them.
Candidate Requirements
Highly motivated, detail‑oriented with excellent customer service skills and the ability to communicate effectively with members, guests and staff.Passion for fitness and helping others.Ability to learn policies and procedures quickly and follow instructions.Can work in a fast‑paced, high‑volume environment and multitask.Basic math and verbal skills, understanding of basic accounting principles, cash processing procedures, inventory management, etc. are required.Computer skills and efficient typing ability required.Must be 18 years or older.Reporting
This position reports directly to the Department Supervisor (DS) and secondarily to the General Manager (GM).
Education
High School Diploma and / or some college preferred.
Certifications
Current CPR & AED Certification is preferred.
Compensation
$17.50 – $19.00 per hour.
