Honorarium Position

Overview

The ASUS Peer Mentorship Director oversees the AMP program, which pairs first- and second-year students with upper-year mentors to ease the social transition to university. The Director works with their team to plan and execute social events for mentees and mentors while ensuring the program aligns with ASUS policies. Their role is essential for fostering meaningful relationships between mentees and mentors to support student success.

Time Commitment and Remuneration

Term : May 1st, 2025 – April 30th, 2026

Hours : 6-8 hours per week

Duties And Responsibilities

  • Meet with the Deputy Services Commissioner biweekly to discuss updates and initiatives.
  • Plan and execute monthly social events for mentees and mentors to foster connection.
  • Interview and train mentors, ensuring they are well-prepared to support their mentees.
  • Ensure the mentee-mentor relationships are strong and mutually beneficial for all participants.
  • Monitor compliance with ASUS policies to ensure that all mentor-mentee relationships meet the program's standards.

Honorarium Position

The ASUS Peer Mentorship Director's primary responsibility will be to oversee the implementation of AMP, a program that will pair first- and second-year students (mentees) with upper-year (mentors) arts and science students in order to make the social transition from high school to university as seamless as possible. The Director will work with their executive team to create and implement various social events for mentees and mentors.

Eligible candidates must have paid the Arts & Science Undergraduate Membership Fee.

Applications will be available until April 5th at 4 : 00pm EST.

A 12-month term from May 1st, 2024 to April 2025 with a time commitment of 5 hours / week

An honorarium of $800 will be awarded upon successful completion of the role.
