Taurus RNG is a complete RNG project lifecycle platform; we develop Renewable Natural Gas projects and facilities from conception to operation. Our seasoned leadership team has overseen multiple advanced projects and delivered on over 50 different RNG projects globally.

We currently have multiple advanced RNG projects under development in Canada. Taurus RNG invests, delivers and operates RNG facilities, ensuring a consistent and responsible project from inception to operation.

Job Overview :

The Engineering Estimator & Procurement Lead plays a key role in the procurement process for equipment, materials, and services essential to the operation of our Renewable Natural Gas (RNG) facilities. This position requires a strong technical background, excellent negotiation skills, and a thorough understanding of supply chain management. The  Engineering Estimator & Procurement Lead will work closely with engineering, operations, and project teams to ensure that all purchasing activities align with project timelines, budgets, and quality standards.

Key Responsibilities :

  • Procurement Management : Source and purchase equipment, instruments, and engineering services required for the RNG plant construction and operations. Sourcing and negotiating the scope of works and agreements with subcontractors for civil works, electrical system and mechanical installation.
  • Supplier Relations : Develop and maintain strong relationships with suppliers, focusing on quality, cost, and timely delivery. Evaluate supplier performance and ensure compliance with company standards.
  • Contract Negotiation : Negotiate contracts, pricing, and terms with suppliers to ensure the best possible value while meeting project requirements.
  • Technical Assessment : Work with engineering and project teams to prepare the project budget and to understand / improve technical specifications and ensure that purchased goods and services meet required standards and specifications.
  • Cost Control : Develop and implement strategies to reduce procurement costs while maintaining quality and efficiency. Conduct market research and analysis to identify cost-saving opportunities.
  • Documentation and Compliance : Ensure all procurement activities comply with company policies and procedures. Maintain accurate records of purchases, contracts, and supplier performance.
  • Risk Management : Identify and mitigate supply chain risks by developing alternative sources and contingency plans.

Working Conditions :

  • Primarily office-based, with occasional travel primarily within B.C. and Alberta.

    Requirements

  • Education : Technical Degree or Supply Chain Management or a related fields.
  • Experience : Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in technical procurement, preferably in the renewable energy, RNG, biogas, water treatment, EPC or related industries.
  • Technical Skills : Strong understanding of technical specifications and the ability to interpret engineering drawings and documents.
  • Communication Skills : Excellent communication in English, negotiation, and interpersonal skills to work effectively with suppliers and internal teams.
  • Analytical Skills : Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a focus on cost control and process improvement.
  • Software Proficiency : Experience with Microsoft Office Suite, use of Excel for budgeting and tracking.
  • Certifications : Relevant certifications (e.g., CPSM, CIPS) are a plus.
