Position Overview
Under the direction of the Director of Health Services, the Education Instructor will demonstrate a commitment to the Mission, Vision, and Key beliefs of the Victoria General Hospital. The Education Instructor is a program based professional responsible for maintaining and improving the quality of care through clinical practice, consultation, education, research and community service; participating in the planning, implementation and evaluation of new clinical and educational programs in the area of clinical expertise; and performing other duties as required. The Education Instructor will provide facility wide continuous quality improvement through leadership and example.
Experience
- Five years current relevant clinical nursing experience required.
- Two years’ teaching experience in health education and/or adult education required.
Education (Degree/Diploma/Certificate)
- Bachelor of Nursing, or Bachelor of Science of Nursing degree or related undergraduate degree required.
- Master's degree in Nursing or equivalent preferred.
- Certificate in Adult Education preferred.
- Post-graduate relevant/current specialty nursing course(s) preferred.
- Knowledge of research process, program planning and evaluation required.
Certification/Licensure/Registration
- Current registration with the appropriate nursing professional association required.
- Active participation in professional associations e.g., Association of Regulated Nurses of Manitoba (ARNM) preferred.
Qualifications and Skills
- Scope of practice as documented in the Regulated Health Professions Act (RHPA).
- Knowledge of research process, program planning and evaluation required.
- Strong leadership and communication skills required.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to perform the essential physical requirements of the position.
- Moderate to heavy physical effort required.
