Position Summary

Seabird Island is committed to providing high-quality, accessible, and culturally responsive health care to community members. We are seeking a Medical Office Assistant (MOA) to join our Health and Social Development team. This position plays a critical role in ensuring smooth daily operations of the Medical Clinic while supporting culturally safe and client-centered care.

Under the supervision of the Acting Health Services Administrative Lead the MOA will perform a range ofadministrative and clinical support duties, including scheduling appointments, maintaining medical records,

preparing examination rooms, processing billing claims as needed, and supporting client intake. The MOA is often the first point of contact for patients and must demonstrate professionalism, confidentiality, and cultural sensitivity. This role requires strong attention to detail, proficiency with medical software systems, and the ability to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary team environment.

What You'll Do

Administrative Support :

• Greet clients and manage front desk operations including answering phones and booking appointments.
• Process patient referrals and requests for information in accordance with privacy standards.
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date electronic medical records using Profile (EMR).
• Transcribe dictations and prepare documentation such as case histories, letters, reports, and forms.
• Submit medical billing, insurance, and claims paperwork.
• Manage records management systems, including organizing and coding files (electronic and hard

copy).
