Position Overview
Velocity Truck Rental and Leasing has an opening for a Journeyman Heavy Duty Technician / Truck and Trailer Mechanic based in Langley, BC. The technician maintains Fleet, Truck Rentals, and leasing vehicles in optimal operating condition. You will develop and maintain strong customer relations and deliver high levels of service.
Responsibilities
- Perform diagnostic inspections and troubleshooting on heavy-duty trucks and trailers
- Conduct repairs and preventative maintenance on engines, brakes, electrical systems, and other mechanical components
- Ensure all work complies with manufacturer specifications and safety standards
- Maintain accurate service records and parts used
- Test drive vehicles to verify repair effectiveness
- Collaborate with team to solve complex mechanical issues
- Stay current with industry best practices and emerging technologies
- Assist with parts ordering and inventory management as needed
- Adhere to safety protocols and company policies
Required Skills and Qualifications
- Red Seal certification or equivalent in Heavy Duty Mechanic/Truck & Transport Technician
- Proven experience with heavy-duty trucks and trailers
- Strong diagnostic and troubleshooting skills for mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems
- Proficiency with diagnostic tools and repair equipment
- Ability to work independently and in a team in a fast-paced environment
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality
- Excellent time management and organizational skills
- Knowledge of safety procedures and adherence to safety standards
Preferred
- Class 1 or Class 3 driver's license
- CVI (Commercial Vehicle Inspection) license
