This is a hybrid role with a mix of in-office and remote work. Work arrangements will be discussed with hiring managers per departmental guidelines.
Your role
Reporting to the Director, Access to Information, as a senior member of the ATIP team, you will be called on to provide strategic advice to all levels of CBC / Radio-Canada on the Corporation's obligations under both the Access to Information Act and Privacy Act, and perform other duties as assigned.
These duties include being responsible for the preparation of annual reports to Parliament, the preparation and publication of the Corporation's proactive disclosure materials, and the management of any complaint files that are before the Office of the Information Commissioner.
You will also manage any incoming requests made pursuant to the Privacy Act and assist on an as-needed basis with any requests received under the Access to Information Act.
We are looking for a candidate with the following :
- University degree and / or training in a related discipline or an equivalent combination of education and experience
- 7 - 10 years of experience in the administration of the Access to Information and Privacy Acts
- A thorough knowledge of Access to Information and Privacy Acts, and their respective Regulations
- Familiarity with OIC regulations and procedures
- Familiarity with Parliamentary Reporting requirements, including statistical analysis
- Must be bilingual (English and French), both spoken and written.
- Strong research and analytical skills and ability to apply those skills to deal with ATIP requests
- In-depth knowledge of various computer programs, including : Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access, Internet, Intranet and electronic mail and ATIP software.
- Ability to be diplomatic, tactful, persuasive, and discrete.
- Ability to organize their work.
- Ability to work both autonomously and in a team environment.
- Ability to demonstrate leadership on complex ATIP files
- Ability to understand and reconcile competing interests
