About Our Opportunity
Reporting to the Director, Citizen & Business Services Portfolio, you will be part of a team that provides project intake services to CSDS for partner departments.
You will be a key member of various multi-disciplinary teams that deliver IT enabled solutions to best meet the needs of users while aligning with Provincial technology standards and industry best practice.
Primary Accountabilities
Guiding the team in the design of the technical solution and delivering a technical architecture with consideration for usability, data security, sustainability, and cost while balancing input from business stakeholders, vendors, and internal technical teams.
Guiding projects through the phases of the Architecture Review Board (ARB) approval process, from conception through to implementation of the live Production system.
- Options Analysis : Review the current systems functionality, current state architecture, provide options and recommendations considering cost, useability, data security, scalability, re-usability, configurability, multi-tenancy, sustainability etc.
- Creating architecture diagrams and communicating the solution architecture to all concerned parties.
- Engaging directly with CSDS operations and technical teams to coordinate certain aspects of implementation.
- Provide consulting and advisory services to leadership and teams within CSDS and our partner departments by participating in RFP development and evaluation.
- Working with other members of the multi-disciplinary team to turn concepts into user-centered services, and to help promote best practice.
- Contributing to designing interaction patterns and standards, looking for common features across services.
Qualifications and Experience
Bachelor’s Degree in Information Technology + 5 years related experience; or graduation from a recognized Information Technology Program + 5 years and 6 months related experience;
or an equivalent combination of training and experience may be acceptable.
- Strong critical thinking skills and the ability to provide innovative IT solutions in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent stakeholder management skills, with the ability to build relationships, gain consensus, and drive change.
- Effective communication skills, with experience working at a strategic level to understand business challenges and craft comprehensive solutions.
- Independence in high-level operations with a strong sense of curiosity and commitment to continuous learning.
- Understanding of modern tech stacks ( Python, Django, MySQL, OpenShift, GitLab, .NET, Angular etc.)
- Experience designing, developing or supporting modern open-sourced software solutions is considered an asset.
