Bakery Development Manager
POSITION TITLE : Bakery Development Manager
DEPARTMENT : Monte Cristo
LOCATION : Monte Cristo Bakery, Delta
REPORTS TO : General Manager, Manufacturing
DIRECT REPORTS : Yes
PURPOSE OF POSITION :
Overseeing the day to day operation of Monte Cristo Bakery in support of the General Manager.
You will be responsible for : (Responsibilities)
- Assist in building a strong and cohesive team at all levels of the plant
- Review and optimize manufacturing processes in collaboration with the Plant Manager for quality and efficiency
- Oversee the operations of manufacturing personnel to ensure a stream manufacturing process is within budget and time schedule.
- Review and understand manufacturing processes and make recommendations for modifications where necessary in conjunction with the plant Manager.
- Work in conjunction with the purchaser in negotiations with key suppliers, focusing on continually lowering cost of goods and ensuring that all relationships & agreements represent best interests and are conducted professionally, cooperatively, and ethically with keeping the GM informed.
- Coordinate and mentor the senior manufacturing, including QA team to ensure operations are in compliance with food safety and health and safety standards
- Partner with maintenance team for scheduled maintenance of production equipment and machines to ensure efficient operations
- Liaise with the quality assurance department to ensure product quality and specification are consistent
- Collaborate with R&D and sales team to implement strategies that will improve the marketability of manufactured products
- Provide mentorship to production team to form a cohesive team
You have : (Requirements)
- Master Baker or an equivalent combination of education and experience
- 5+ years experience in a bakery food production facility
- 10+ years of leadership experience in related industry
- Business experience in purchasing, budgeting, P&L management
