This position is responsible for the production of parts on CNC milling machines.
Requirements : Minimum :
Minimum :
1. Two years experience operating a CNC vertical milling machines. Experience may include post secondary vocational-technical training.
2. Ability to interpret complex mechanical drawings to set-up and operate CNC milling machine
3. Basic understanding of CNC programming and GD&T.
4. Proficiency in the use of measuring instruments including the following :
a. Micrometer
b. Vernier caliper
c. Height Gage, Depth Gages, Pin Gage, Gage Blocks, and Thread Gages
5. Verification and inspection of dimensions of machined parts within tolerances of + / - 0.002
6. Good manual dexterity and an above average attention to detail. Ability to stand for long periods of time. Ability to perform moderate to heavy lifting.
7. Ability to work independently and resolve problems in order to 1) maintain a safe work environment, 2) meet quality requirements, and 3) meet production schedules.
Preferred :
1. Experience with Matsuura Vertical Milling Machines ( MC -550VX and MC -550 VG ) is preferable
2. Experience with Mastercam, MS Office products and MS Windows Operating System is an asset
3. Understanding of Fanuc operating controls
4. Machining of small complex aluminum parts; housings, brackets, lids, jigs, etc.
5. Safety training and certification
Duties :
- Comply with safety practices, including the use of personal protective equipment
- Housekeeping Maintain an organized, clean and safe work area
- Accurately interpret and read engineering drawings
- Set up, load, run, and unload CNC Milling machines
- Compute dimensions and tolerances and lay out work pieces
- Prepare clamps and fixtures for setups based on required specifications
- Work independently to produce aluminum housings, jigs, lids, carriers, brackets and barriers.
- Resolve problems and issues that arise
- Perform material handling duties associated with the job
- Perform first off inspection; Ensure part is within tolerances and dimensions provided on Inspection sheet and drawing
- Complete process and production records
- Work with others to eliminate repeated rejections and improve quality
Education : High School minimum. College / vocational or technical training credentials preferred (certificates, licenses, memberships, courses, etc.)
