We currently have an exciting opportunity for you to bring your excellent work ethic to our Cardiac Testing-ECG / Holter department.

In accordance with established vision and values of the organization, performs techniques relating to Electro Cardiogram (ECG) testing, stress testing, Holter and event Recorders and pacemaker monitoring and other types of diagnostic cardiac equipment.

Shift Rotation / Hours of work : Wednesday-Friday then Thursday-Friday rotating week to week, Days - 08 : 00 to 16 : 00, 07 : 00 to 15 : 00

New Wage : As of April 1, 2024, the new wage is : $34.00 - $42.42 / hour

University Hospital of Northern BC (UHNBC) is the largest acute care facility (268 beds) in Northern Health and is the hub for specialized health services.

It is a full service hospital and home to a new cancer centre for Northern BC, including a wide range of cancer treatments.

Provides undergraduate physician training through the Northern Medical Program, run by the University of British Columbia and University of Northern British Columbia.

UHNBC is also a key clinical education site for nursing and many health sciences students at UNBC, the College of New Caledonia, BCIT and other institutions.

Prince George has a population of 89,490 (2021) local residents and is a service centre for approximately 320,000. Prince George has all of the amenities of a larger city mixed with the charm and friendliness of a smaller town.

Qualfications

  • Completion of a Canadian Society of Cardiology Technologists recognized Diploma program in Cardiology Technology, plus one years' recent, related experience or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
  • Current practicing registration with Canadian Society of Cardiology Technologist (CSCT).

  • Communication : Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively with clients, families, the public, medical staff and the members of the interdisciplinary team using, oral written and computer communication means.

Demonstrated ability to effectively resolve conflict.

Critical Thinking : Demonstrated ability to integrate and evaluate pertinent data (from multiple sources) to problem-solve and make decisions effectively.

Applies the problem solving process demonstrating critical thinking and decision making skills using a systems approach.

  • Management : Demonstrated ability to organize work, set objectives and establish priorities. Manages time and resources, implements activities to promote cooperation among the interdisciplinary team, supervises responsibilities of others, and collaborates across disciplines.
  • Leadership : Promotes staff morale, engagement, and risk-taking. Demonstrates creative planning for change and innovations, implementation of NH policies or other protocols, and ongoing professional development of self and others.
  • Teamwork : Demonstrated ability to foster teamwork and a commitment to excellence in the provision of client care.
  • Equipment : Demonstrated computer skills including the use of Meditech and Windows based programs. Demonstrated data analysis skills including appropriate data analysis and reporting tools.

Demonstrated ability in the use of e-mail and word processing. Ability to operate other related equipment as required in the specific practice area.

Physical ability to perform the duties of the position.
