The Pursuits Manager (PM) is responsible for overseeing the processes, systems, people, and work product that meet the ultimate goal of winning new contract opportunities.

In addition to this role’s daily management and oversight responsibilities, the Pursuit Manager will also be actively involved in the delivery of individual pursuits, with duties as outlined below.

Duties & Responsibilities :

Management / Oversight Duties :

  • Management oversight for Civeo’s Pursuits Department, providing direction for the ongoing advancement of the systems, standards, and practices that build efficiencies, accuracy, and speed into Civeo’s bid process
  • Provide direction and leadership to a team of Pursuit Leads across various lines of business, allocating resources, delegating tasks, and monitoring performance
  • Provide mentoring and coaching of Pursuit Leads with a focus on the continuous improvement of technical / persuasive writing skills
  • Monitor the progress of all pursuit activity within the organization towards stated deadlines
  • Review, edit, and approve all work product of the Pursuit team to ensure deliverables comply with established standards and are “client ready”
  • Conduct internal post-mortem review on each pursuit, won or lost, to identify opportunities for improvement and coaching opportunities for Pursuit Leads
  • Oversee the ongoing maintenance of the Pursuits Library, the source of truth for all standardized pursuit assets (static documents, templates, graphics, images,

Pursuit Delivery Duties :

  • Responsible for the production of compelling, persuasive bid documents and associated pursuit materials
  • Review all client pursuit documentation to understand scope and bid requirements
  • To set internal deadlines for the pursuit process for subject matter experts including commercial and estimating
  • Assign tasks to the appropriate internal subject matter experts (SMEs) responsible for contributing information and monitor their progress towards stated deadlines, understanding of tasks, any risks are addressed, and ensure deadlines are achieved.
  • Collaborate with Civeo’s Sales team to define the bid strategy and win themes
  • Collect all clarifying questions from SMEs and communicate client responses to all internal pursuit stakeholders
  • Review SME work product to ensure : The information provided is complete, accurate, and RFP compliant There is coherence between Commercial and Technical content and messaging
  • Ensures proposal structure complies with the client’s RFP requirements
  • Ensures all bid documentation adheres to Civeo’s standards, practices, and branding guidelines
  • Skills and Attributes for Success

  • Post-secondary degree in Commerce, Marketing, Communications, Public Relations, or related disciplines
  • 3+ years’ experience working in a sales or marketing environment managing complex technical pursuits
  • Exceptional business / technical writing skills with the ability to draft persuasive, concise, clear, and accurate messages
  • Ability to communicate effectively and build rapport with internal stakeholders and team members through regular dialogue and coaching
  • Strong project management skills with an ability to oversee multiple concurrent initiatives in a deadline driven environment
  • Ability to use initiative, problem solve and to make appropriate recommendations
  • Experience in construction / engineering, hospitality, and / or professional services is favourable, but not essential
  • Demonstrated proficiency with Microsoft Office, Adobe Creative Suite (specifically, InDesign), Salesforce CRM and web-based interfaces
  • Knowledge of document management methods within a SharePoint environment
  • Must be willing to work occasional overtime (evenings / weekends) to meet deadlines when necessary
  • Ability to write in both official languages (English and French) is favorable, but not essential.
