Key Responsibilities

• End-to-End Procurement Management : Plan and execute procurement of materials, services, and subcontractors for public infrastructure projects (roads, utilities, public buildings). Ensure compliance with project requirements and quality standards.
• Bidding & RFP Response : Prepare bid packages and develop comprehensive proposals for government RFPs. Draft specifications, coordinate submission schedules, and ensure compliance with procurement regulations.
• Contract Negotiation & Administration : Negotiate favorable terms with vendors and subcontractors. Manage contract execution, amendments, and change orders throughout the project lifecycle.
• Budget & Spend Management : Oversee multi-million-dollar contract budgets. Implement cost control measures, track expenditures, and provide regular reporting on spend vs. budget.
• Supplier Management : Identify, evaluate, and onboard suppliers meeting public sector standards. Maintain strong vendor relationships and negotiate bulk purchase agreements for cost efficiency.
• Compliance & Documentation : Ensure adherence to Alberta procurement laws and trade agreements. Maintain thorough documentation for audits and reporting, including bid evaluations and vendor selection justifications.
• Cross-Functional Coordination : Collaborate with project managers, engineers, finance, and legal teams to align procurement timelines with project milestones.
• Performance Monitoring : Track supplier performance and procurement schedules to avoid delays. Conduct post-project evaluations for continuous improvement.
