Responsibilities
- Prepare annual financial statements reporting WorkplaceNL's financial position to all stakeholders.
- Work with external actuarial and audit services to complete recording of benefit liabilities and audit requirements.
- Ensure accurate and timely completion of administration, capital and project budgets for management and presentation of comparative results, including justification and interpretation for presentation to the Board of Directors.
- Maintain knowledge of accounting standards (IFRS) related to reporting and presentation of WorkplaceNL's financial position.
- Maintain short and long-term cash flow preparation and pro forma development based on economic drivers such as employment trends and injured worker benefits.
Qualifications
CPA (Certified Professional Accountant) designation with 5 years progressive experience in financial statement preparation, cash flow forecasting and pro forma financial statements.Strong analytical, organizational, communication and interpersonal skills; able to work independently under multiple deadlines.Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially advanced Excel; knowledge of Oracle is an asset.What success looks like
Guide junior staff to ensure accurate and timely recording, reconciliation, and reporting.Collaborate with all areas of the organization to ensure accurate budget development and presentation to the Board of Directors.Develop knowledge of cash flow, forecasting, statistical reporting and injury fund monitoring (long-term investments).About Us
