Position Summary

The Assistant General Manager is responsible for overseeing all aspects of restaurant operations to deliver an exceptional customer experience. This role supervises daily activities, ensuring food safety, product quality, cleanliness, and operational standards are consistently upheld. Additionally, the Assistant General Manager plays a pivotal role in developing and leading a customer-focused team, supporting staff development, and maintaining restaurant safety and security. This position is ideal for candidates seeking career advancement to a General Manager role.

Key Responsibilities

Staff Management :

  • Oversee a team of 4 to 12 staff members, including assigning tasks, monitoring performance, and providing feedback.
  • Recommend staff promotions, transfers, or terminations as needed.
  • Conduct written and verbal evaluations of staff performance.

Supervision and Coaching :

  • Supervise and train team members to maintain cleanliness and operational standards as outlined in the Operations Manual.
  • Assist the General Manager in developing a high-performing, customer-focused team.
  • Food Preparation and Safety :

  • Oversee food preparation processes to ensure compliance with food safety and operational guidelines.
  • Administrative Duties :

  • Perform paperwork duties, including inventory management, staff scheduling, and compliance reports.
  • Assist in planning and executing special events or promotions.
  • Shift Coverage :

  • Ensure all shifts are covered, either by personally filling the role or securing staff coverage.
  • Additional Responsibilities :

  • Perform other tasks and responsibilities as assigned to support the success of the restaurant.
  • Prerequisites

    Education :

  • High school diploma required; preference given to candidates with post-secondary education.
  • Experience :

  • Minimum of 3 years in a supervisory role within a Quick Service Restaurant (QSR) environment.
  • Demonstrated understanding of QSR operations, with strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
  • Experience working in a computerized environment, including POS systems.
  • Physical Requirements :

  • Ability to work in various areas of the restaurant, including food prep, service, and cleaning.
  • Frequent bending, standing, and walking throughout the workday.
  • Capability to lift up to 10 pounds frequently and up to 30 pounds occasionally.
