What is the opportunity? The Manager, CB Finance – Regional Banking provide Finance Advisory Support to Reginal Banking National Office including Physical Networks Strategy / ATM, Planning & Integration, Retail & Business Distribution Strategy & Performance and Regional Banking Support / Rewards & Recognition. The Manager will lead NIE / FTE processes including Five Year Outlook, annual planning, ongoing NIE / FTE forecasts, T-5 estimates and monthly monitoring of NIE / FTE results and plays a key role in the management of Total Regional Banking NIE through the delivery of meaningful and actionable financial information and insight which are critical to senior management decisions. What will you do?
- Proactively provides expert analysis and advice to VP - Physical Networks Strategy, VP - Retail Delivery Model & Advisor Role Strategy, VP – Distribution Strategy & Transformation, VP - Regional Banking Support and their teams through reporting and insights for total NIE and FTE providing key information and ongoing advice to enable management decision making and establishment of action plans to maximize financial performance
- Acts as lead for Regional Banking National Office NIE / FTE as part of the annual Five Year Outlook and planning process where incumbent will partner with the relevant management teams to determine both NIE & FTE outlook, ensuring that rationale for any increases are clearly articulated & available to LOB Finance partners to support increases in annual expenses
- Work with business partners to prepare bi-annual forecasts and annual plan / 5YO for NIE / FTE with specific responsibility for national office, Physical Networks Strategy (including ATM), Regional Banking initiatives, Rewards & Recognition, Learning, GHHR and overall RB charge-outs & recoveries
- Works with Director, Finance – Regional Banking, Senior Manager, Finance – Regional Banking and Senior Manager, Finance – Private Banking to make recommendations re : distribution of platform NIE challenges to Regional Banking, identification of opportunities and development of strategies to achieve NIE challenge
- Has regularly scheduled meetings / calls with relevant Regional Banking national office teams to ensure there is an exchange of information re : Finance and National Office priorities
- Key support to the Director and Senior Manager, Finance – Regional Banking proactively adding value added expertise and advice on Regional Banking initiatives and their impact on financial performance
- Develops and prepares the Regional Banking National Office forecasts engaging strategic partners to prepare appropriate T-5 estimates and forecasts in relation to plan, YoY and MoM performance
- Review business performance with Regional Banking National Office providing value-added insights to help ensure alignment with Regional Banking and CB strategic priorities
What do you need to succeed? Must-have
2+ years' experience in financial reporting & analysis and cost management.Experience using metrics, KPIs and cost / value drivers in performance managementExperience with unique financial systems such as EPM (Cognos TM1).Solid business acumen and problem solving skills.Curious and proactive mindset with a focus on continuous improvementComfortable dealing with incomplete information, uncertainty and changeNice-to-have
B. Comm, CPA-CA / CMA / CGA, MBA, CFA or equivalent work experienceExposure to the Bank’s Retail / Business network, products and services.A varied working career including positions in a number of areas of RBC or another financial institution.Knowledge and understanding of banking products and processesJob Skills Accounting, Decision Making, Financial Analysis and Reporting, Financial Planning and Analysis (FP&A), Results-Oriented Additional Job Details
